108 Social Housing Projects Completed in 2024

Vietnam anticipates the completion of 108 social housing projects, comprising over 47,500 apartments in 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Construction. Localities nationwide have been urged to register their upcoming social housing projects slated for completion in 2024, catering to low-income individuals and industrial park workers.

Binh Duong, a southern province, leads in project numbers with 20, encompassing 4,500 apartments. Meanwhile, Bac Ninh in the north has the highest count of apartments to be finished, totaling 6,000 across five projects. Other notable registrations include Ho Chi Minh City (six projects, 3,700 apartments), Hai Phong City (eight projects, 3,925 apartments), Can Tho City (two projects, 1,500 apartments), and various other provinces with varying project numbers and apartment counts.

The Ministry of Construction indicates that nationwide, 419 social housing projects are currently under construction, comprising approximately 432,500 apartments and covering a total floor area of around 22.6 million square meters.

Vietnam's long-term goal is to construct at least 1 million social housing apartments by 2030, with an interim target of completing around 428,000 apartments by 2025. In 2023, a total of 28 housing projects, offering 13,864 apartments for low-income earners and industrial park workers, were successfully completed, while an additional 16 projects commenced construction.
